Project Overview

This campaign concept was developed as a visual advertising direction for Under Armour’s Stephen Curry basketball sneaker line. The goal was to create a bold, energetic poster series that highlights the performance, style, and competitive spirit of the shoe while connecting directly to the mindset of serious basketball players.

The campaign centers around the phrase “Be Like…”, using elemental themes to represent the qualities athletes need on the court: fluidity, explosiveness, and confidence. Each poster explores a different visual expression of performance through water, fire, and Curry-inspired greatness.

Campaign Concept

The core idea behind the campaign was to position the Curry sneaker as more than just basketball footwear. It becomes a symbol of transformation, movement, and elite performance. Basketball players are constantly adapting, reacting, cutting, shooting, and competing under pressure. The campaign uses natural elements to visualize those traits in a dramatic and memorable way.

Creative Direction

The visual direction combines sports photography, dramatic lighting, atmospheric backgrounds, and high-impact digital effects to create a premium basketball campaign aesthetic. Each poster places the sneaker as the dominant hero element, with a faded action image in the background to support the story without competing with the product.

The design system uses strong contrast, bold centered typography, and cinematic color grading to create a consistent campaign language across all three posters. The sneaker remains the focal point, while the water and fire treatments help differentiate each message and emotional tone.

Target Audience

The campaign was designed for young basketball players and sneaker enthusiasts who take the sport seriously. This includes athletes who play competitively, train regularly, or view basketball shoes as both performance gear and style statements.

The visual language is intentionally energetic, aspirational, and bold, appealing to consumers who want footwear that feels connected to performance, identity, and basketball culture.

Design Strategy

The design strategy was to build a campaign that could work as a poster series, social media promotion, in-store display, or digital ad campaign. Each execution needed to feel distinct while still belonging to the same overall brand system.

The sneaker was enlarged and placed in the foreground to establish product dominance. The background athlete imagery adds context and credibility, while the elemental effects provide emotion and visual impact. The typography was treated differently across the campaign to match each theme, giving every poster its own personality while maintaining campaign consistency.

Final Direction

The final poster series presents the Curry sneaker as a performance-driven product built for athletes who want to move with control, play with energy, and carry themselves with confidence. Through the use of water, fire, and athlete-centered storytelling, the campaign creates a strong visual connection between the product and the mindset of basketball players.
